AyatFlow Privacy Policy
In short
AyatFlow is a free Quran app that works on your phone. We do not collect, sell or share your personal data. There is no account to create, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking.
- No account and no login
- No ads
- No analytics or crash-reporting services
- No personal data collected by us, and none sold or shared
- Your progress, profiles and settings stay on your phone
- Your voice is checked on your phone and is never uploaded
What stays on your phone
The app stores the following only on your device, in the app's private storage:
- Your reading progress, daily goal, streak and hasanat count
- Profiles for the people who use the app on this phone (the names you type)
- Your memorisation (Sabaq / Sabqi / Manzil) schedule
- Your settings, such as theme, Arabic script, text sizes and reminders
- Words you choose to accept in the optional accent profile
- Recitation audio you have listened to, kept so it plays again without a connection
- The speech model, once downloaded
None of this is sent to us. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android settings, deletes it. If Android's own backup is switched on for your phone, Google may include app data in your Google backup; that is controlled by Google and your phone's settings, not by AyatFlow.
Microphone
The app asks to use the microphone only for the Recite feature, and only while you are reciting. The sound is turned into text by a speech model that runs on your phone, so your voice does not leave the device. The app does not save or upload your recordings.
Notifications and reminders
Reading reminders are ordinary notifications that your phone shows at the time you choose. They are scheduled on your phone and need no internet connection. The app asks for permission to post notifications, to deliver them at the exact minute (Android's "Alarms & reminders" setting), and to restore them after the phone restarts. Nothing rings and no alarm is set in your Clock app.
Internet use
The app works offline once its files are on your phone. It connects to the internet only in these two cases, each started by you using the feature:
| When | Where | What is sent |
|---|---|---|
| You choose to download the speech model for recitation checking (one time, about 264 MB) | GitHub (github.com/j4far/ayatflow-downloads) | An ordinary download request |
| You listen to a recitation of a verse that is not yet on your phone | Islamic Network audio servers (cdn.islamic.network) | An ordinary request for that audio file |
Like any website or download, these services can see your IP address and the file requested. We do not send them your name, progress or anything else about you. They have their own privacy policies. We do not operate any server that receives data from the app.
Children
AyatFlow does not collect personal data from anyone, including children. The profiles feature lets a family share one phone; the names are kept only on that phone.
Third-party code
The app includes open-source components (for example the Flutter framework and the whisper.cpp speech engine). They run inside the app on your phone. The app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking software.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes how it handles data, this page will be updated first and the date above will change.
